Getting Started:
The system opens to a Bulletin board that tells you when & what the system has updated.
Normally the first TAB you will click on is the FIND Tab and after you enter your search criteria the default VIEW is the SNAP View but others are available and the other main one is NOTES.
Though you can enter NOTES in the SNAP View NOTES View gives a better one line of information on the player.
FIND Tab
You can search by any single field or combination of fields on the upper portion (every thing but the INDEPENDENT SEARCH AREA) of this page.
The Blue shaded line is dedicated to the NFL. The Red shaded line is dedicated to the CFL. The Lime Green shaded line is dedicated to the UFL.
Page Legend:
POS – Position
GP – General Position
Opt Yr – CFL Option Year players
NIP – CFL only, Non Import player status
Draft Yr – It is the Draft Year of the player
RND – NFL or CFL Draft round
Save Search Criteria Upon Return
If this box is checked the FBX will remember the last search you made.
If it is un-checked when you come back to the search page it will be completely blank.
Both checked and un-checked come in handy depending on what you are doing.
Finding a player:
The 3 main search criteria when searching for a player are LAST NAME, FIRST NAME & SCHOOL.
Try entering just 3 letters of the First and Last name and hitting the search button.
You do NOT have to spell out the complete name in order to find anyone. I
If you can’t find him by NAME then enter the School and the first initial of the last name.
Independent Search Area:
This search area is totally independent of the criteria on the top of the page. In other words you can’t combine data from this area with the criteria on the top of the page.
EVENT Search
From the pull down find the event you want to search for. Next enter the year of that event. TRICK. Some events have years of the players Draft Year while others that are not Draft connected have years that the event actually happened. Like NFLE (NFL Evaluation Camp in Indy has the Year equating to the NFL Draft year) or D.Forde FA Camp has the year it actually happened. Yep, it is confusing.
TRANSACTION Search
IF you just logged on you cannot do a Transaction search as your first search of the day. Do a name search or anything in the upper search area prior to and then you are ok. Much simpler then EVENT Search. If you want today’s transactions just input today’s date in the first date box and the second date box defaults to the same date as the first box. If you want a range of dates put the oldest date in the first box and the later date in the second box and you get that range of transactions.
REPORT Search
The drop down will give you all the users for your team. By selecting a scout you will be able to see his reports. More later.
VIEWS
Sometimes in the beginning it is just much easier to stay with the SNAP View. There are other Views available like Contact Information, Transactions, Notes, Scout Reports, and even a few more but FBX usually reserves the right to make available only the views you need in the beginning. This is just to tell you there is a lot of power in this program.

TIPS & TRICKS -
To remember your user name & password click on the REMEMBER ME button after your first log on. This button is on the HOME or Bulletin board page.
If you continually search and the system doesn’t bring up anyone push on the CLEAR button next to the SEARCH or CANCEL buttons and this will clear all fields. Many times I find I have left a space or single letter in one of the fields.
If the INTERNET won’t let you log on or even if you loading bar gets stuck on 10% or 90% just X out and try again. Even if our server is only down for 1% of the day, that is still 14 and 1/2 minutes/day. You really don’t notice this very much unless you are on 8-10 hrs per day.
Again if it doesn’t load quickly be patient and X out and back in a few times. This should NOT take over 5 minutes.
